Gossip is one of those things that everyone else does but no one wishes to own up to. It’s easy to mentally point out those we might consider as gossips or at least as untrustworthy, yet how often do we have a chance to reflect on our own actions? Often this consideration is an immediate turn-off, but just hang on for a second, there is a scripture passage that changed my life and I know it will change yours!
“Never let evil talk pass your lips, say only the good things men need to hear, things that will really help them… Get rid of all bitterness, all passion and anger, harsh words, slander, and malice of every kind.” (Ephesians 4: 29, 31)
I think it is super helpful to really simply sit in silence, read this portion of scripture over and over again and simply reflect. Allow the Holy Spirit to enter into your heart and it will change every interaction, if we allow it to do so.
