Rev. David Brownfield Ph.D.

Picture
Pastor
I was ordained a priest in 1990 and assigned to All Saints, Keokuk, in July 2019. Pope Francis appointed me, along with Fr. Goetz, a Missionary of Mercy in 2016 and thus dedicated to sacrament of reconciliation and preaching mercy of God. I hold a doctorate in Economics and taught college courses.

My family consists of my adult adopted son, Bryan, who adopted me first, as well as one sister, two brothers, one nephew and one niece. Both of my parents are now deceased, but it may be interesting to note that after my mom’s death, my dad followed me into the priesthood and served in Ft Madison.

My interests are many. I been a member of the diocesan CRS and CCHD board since 1995, the Priest’s Aid Society Board since 1993. I served local Foster Care Review Boards for nine years and a local Empowerment Board for three years. My hobbies also include walking, riding bicycles, computer and video games, and listening to catholic radio.

Husband to a lovely wife, father to 5 children. I graduated in 2010 from Quincy University with a degree in Theology & Philosophy with a concentration in pastoral ministry and have been serving All Saints parish since January 2012. Since that time I have received a certificate in Youth Ministry through the Center for Ministry Development in 2015. I also have earned a Master of Arts in Catechetics & Evangelization from the Franciscan University of Steubenville in winter of 2020.

I have been serving the Parish as the Director of Faith Formation & Youth Ministry for at least seven years. Now as I gain more responsibilities, in addition to my current apostolate with youth and families, It is a pleasure to serve the parish as Pastoral Associate. In addition to Christian Initiation, Sacramental Preparation / Mystagogy, and Lifelong Catechesis I will be helping Fr. Dave to coordinate lay apostolate / ministries as in addition to other tasks, particularly the work of evangelization.

Please feel free to contact me at any time about the webpage, parish social media platforms, faith formation events & programs, or sacramental preparation.

Ms. Addison Johnson

Catechetics & Evangelization Assistant
Buisness Manager

I have been a part of the church all my life. As a young girl I attended St. Vincents up until middle school where I then attended KMS and onto KHS. I graduated from the Keokuk High School in 2019 and am currently attending SCC at the Keokuk Campus. I’m working towards my Associative of Arts Degree and a few business certificates. My end goal is to attend Capri College in Cedar Rapids, IA to become a licensed cosmetologist.

I am a family of five. I have two younger sisters whom I love and cherish endlessly. I have a house full of pets that never cease to make me laugh. (3 dogs, 2 cats)  Growing up our faith and dedication to the church was always something really important to my family. I am so thankful that God has blessed me with such an amazing life and family.

When I saw this job opportunity, I knew I couldn’t pass it up. I am constantly wanting to learn and grow closer to the Lord. I love serving the Parish as I am continuing to grow closer to God and learning so many new things about him and our Parish! I am so blessed to have been given this opportunity to be a part of something so special.
